All our professors have music diplomas and a great experience in teaching. The mastering of their instrument, their great knowledge of music theory and their unconditional love for music are a great asset.

Accordion& Arrangements


Jacques Mornet is an accordionist. He founded the CNIMA with Nathalie Boucheix in 1995.

While initially working as a school teacher and playing accordion in an orchestra on the side, he quickly became passionate about teaching the accordion. He became the Thor county music school's director, in Provence. There he developped a one-of-a-kind teaching system, putting an emphasis on the fact the accordion is a wind instrument. Throughout the years his students have been very successful at international championships both in classical music and variety, establishing him as a world renowned professor, with a world record of 116 firt prizes. 


Jacques Mornet has been awarded the Moscow Gnessin Academy Silver Disc and the Prix Gus Viseur.  He is the CMA's vice president(Confédération Mondiale de l’Accordéon) and takes part in juries at international accordion championships around the world.

At the CNIMA, Monsieur Mornet teaches accordion and arrangements.

He travels the world with Nathalie Boucheix to give workshops and masterclasses.

Accordion

Nathalie Boucheix is an accordionist and the director of the CNIMA, which she co-founded in 1995 with her former teacher, Jacques Mornet.


Winner of the world’s most prestigious accordion competitions — the World Trophy (1994), Klingenthal International Competition (1994), and the French Médard Ferrero Prize (1993) — she was also awarded the SACEM Francis Baxter Prize (1993). She holds a Diploma of Musical Studies (DEM) in accordion.


Early in her career, Nathalie performed in France’s most renowned galas alongside accordion legends such as André Verchuren, Maurice Larcange, and Yvette Horner. She has also given numerous recitals around the world, performing a sophisticated concert variety repertoire that bridges classical precision and contemporary expression.


At the CNIMA, she serves as administrative director, pedagogical director, and professor of accordion and music theory. A recognized specialist in instrumental technique and musical interpretation, she trains musicians of all levels in both classical and concert variety styles. Together with Jacques Mornet, she regularly travels abroad to lead workshops and masterclasses.



In 2025, during the Coupe Mondiale, Nathalie Boucheix received the CIA Merit Award from the Confédération Internationale des Accordéonistes (CIA), honoring her outstanding contribution to the international influence of the accordion.

Maxime is an accordionist and pianist.

He is an "intermittent" (French status for full time entertainer) specialized in musical entertainment.
He started studying at the CNIMA, at age 11, first as a visiting student, and then as a full time students.

He qualified himself among the first three competitors at numerous international competitions and holds a DEM (Diplôme d'Etudes Musicales) in accordion variety.

At the CNIMA, Maxime teaches accordion and music entertainment.

Pianist

Christian Mornet is a pianist.

Accompanist with an exceptional touch and flawless virtuosity, he plays for the Brazilian singer, Marcia Maria, shares the stage with Mama Bea at Bobino and tours the USA with Alain Musichini.
Jazz enthusiast, he plays in many formations such as the group Catimbo, the Michel Gaudry quintet, the Swing Sorg Orchestra...
He directs several operettas at the Odéon theater in Marseille and at the Tarascon theater.
Trained at the departmental school of music of Thor (Vaucluse).
He is 1st prize of the conservatory of Avignon in piano.

Guitarist


Sam Tallet is a guitarist and singer.

Self-taught, he asserts himself with ardor, despite his young age, in a range of styles from rock to funk through pop and flamenco.
A professional training at the IMFP of Salon de Provence and an avalanche of musical projects of scale propel him among the best musicians of the French scene.
Sponsored by the guitarist Louis Winsberg, he plays with Paco Séry, Stéphane Huchard, Minino Garay. In 2019, he was chosen to participate in "The Voice" with his group Octopus, in front of 7 million viewers.

Jonathan Chamberlain
Guitarist
Jonathan CHAMBERLIN plays in several musical groups: Celtic music, song, rock.

Jonathan learns guitar from a teacher from the American School of Modern Music in Paris. A student at CNIMA where he perfected his second instrument, the accordion, he obtained a CEM (Certificate of Musical Studies) in musical training, as well as the UV DEM (Diploma of Musical Studies) in ensemble music and musical practice (accompaniment, arrangement, improvisation).

At CNIMA, he teaches acoustic and electric guitar. in a wide variety of musical styles: Rock, blues, folk, pop, song, Celtic music, reggae, funk, bossa nova.

Franck Angelis

Accordion


Franck Angelis is a leading composer of contemporary accordion and winner of the Trophée Mondial de l'accordéon in 1981 (senior classical). He has been teaching at the CRD of Gennevilliers since 1992 and is a member of the DE. He has been jury in national and international competitions (World Cup, World Trophy, Castefidardo...). As an accordionist, he has also recorded for film soundtracks: "Jeanne et les garçons formidables", with music by Philippe Miller and "Un monde entre deux", music by Bernard Cavanna. As a composer, he has participated in several creations, including Bernard Cavanna's Mass and the "Musica" festival in Strasbourg. His compositions with a unique and modern style testify to the creative genius of the composer. Most of them are today imposed in the great international competitions and require technical virtuosity, great expressiveness and sensitivity of the interpreter. He has also composed magnificent pedagogical pieces accessible to all levels, which are unanimously praised by teachers and students. These compositions are a real source of happiness for all accordion lovers: beautiful melodies, rhythmic games, jazz phrasing, humor...

Ludovic Beier est accordéoniste.


He specializes in gypsy jazz where he has made a name for himself worldwide alongside guitarist Angelo Debarre. During his tours, he met James Carter, Joe Lovano and Tom Scott and became famous, in the biggest American jazz clubs, alongside Toots Thielemans, Herbie Hancock, Eliane Elias, the Django All Stars... In France, he accompanies Melody Gardot, Thomas Dutronc and Guy Marchand for whom he composes and arranges his latest album "Né à Belleville". Ludovic Beier also lends his talents as a composer and arranger to the world of cinema and television. His latest solo accordion album "Made in black" has just been released. Ludovic Beier is the holder of the Gus Viseur Prize and the Francis Baxter Prize and has a University Master's degree in Gypsy Jazz.

Alain Bernard

Accordion


He received his musical training at the National School of Music in Moulins. He furthered his studies with Claude Daddy, then with José Rossi at the Paris Accordion Academy. A finalist in the “Princes of the Accordion” Trophy, he also graduated with high honors from the National Union of Accordionists of France (Excellence, First Prize, Gold Medal).

Alongside his public performances with his Accordion Trio and his duo with clarinetist Béatrice Bernet, he has taught at the Municipal School of Music in Cournon-d’Auvergne and directed his own accordion school in Combronde.


Apolline Grimaldi

Apolline Grimaldi débute l’accordéon à l’âge de sept ans avec Jean-Luc Manca au Conservatoire de Grenoble, où elle reçoit une formation musicale classique complète. En parallèle, elle intègre l’ensemble d’accordéons de Fontaine, dirigé par sa mère Monique Grimaldi, également professeure d’accordéon. Elle y découvre une grande variété de répertoires, allant du musette au jazz, en passant par les orchestrations et la musique d’ensemble. En 2003, elle fait la rencontre du CNIMA : d’abord en tant que stagiaire, puis vacataire, avant d’y suivre une formation à l’année.

Elle obtient son DFE en 2006 puis son DEM en 2007, tout en préparant plusieurs concours internationaux (Klingenthal, Washington, Montrond-les-Bains...), dont elle sortira lauréate.

Depuis, elle accompagne et enregistre pour diverses formations, parmi lesquelles Yo et Fuego de Rumba. Aujourd’hui, professeure d’accordéon, de formation musicale et de musique d’ensemble sur le bassin grenoblois, Apolline Grimaldi prépare la sortie de son premier EP de compositions originales, prévue pour courant 2026.

Accordion


Accordionist from the southwest of France, Myriam Lafargue discovered and perfected the chromatic accordion at the age of 8 at the famous Jacques Mornet school.

She quickly obtained trophies, national and international awards which made her travel through Europe, the United States,... and allowed her to meet great musicians such as Gilles APAP, Paul MAURIAT, Michel LEGRAND,... with whom she will cooperate professionally during recordings, tours, concerts...


She is also a professor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Bordeaux and is also part of the pedagogical staff of the CNIMA (Centre National et International de Musique et d'Accordéon). She regularly gives master classes in France and abroad.

Mylène Mornet

Voice


Mylène Mornet is a soprano singer.


She interprets numerous roles in the operatic repertoire while leading a career as a recitalist in the field of melody and in the oratorio repertoire.

She is also fond of French songs and regularly performs the great composers of this repertoire.

A student at the CNSM in Paris, she was unanimously awarded a first prize in singing.

She has won numerous national (Alès, Béziers) and international (Voix d'Or, Marmande, Rennes) competitions. Her discography includes "La Périchole" and "Les Diamants de la Couronne" for Harmonia Mundi.
