A unique method, 60 years of experience, 124 first prizes
The CNIMA is an internationally renowned French based accordion school. It was founded in 1995 by esteemed professor Jacques Mornet and award-winning accordionist, co-founder and director, Nathalie Boucheix.
CNIMA students have enjoyed multiple successes, including having won a record 122 awards at international competitions.
The school has trained several generations of France's finest accordionists: Alain Musichini, Domi Emorine, Félicien Brut, Vincent Lhermet, Christine Rossi ... to name a few.
The secret of Mornet's technique lies in approaching the accordion as a wind instrument rather than a keyboard instrument. The proper use of the air column combined with the appropriate touch of the keys (i.e. half-lever/half-button technique, and playing "on the surface"), creates outstanding results that transforms one's playing and frees musicality.
